On Thursday, Lille OSC announced that the attacking midfielder is returning to the club where he wrote a chapter of his career two years ago, joining on loan from AS Monaco until the end of the season.

Lopes, 20, was at Manchester City when he was first loaned to Lille in 2014. He tallied three goals and three assists through 23 Ligue 1 appearances during that loan spell, and subsequently put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Monaco in August.

"I'm very happy to return to Lille," Lopes said. "I feel really good, like I'm at home. I like this club a lot, and I spent a great season here last year. For a player, that's very important. I will now do everything to help the team. I would also like to re-thank the supporters for their numerous messages of support."
