Benzema hopes to win Euro 2016 with Valbuena despite blackmail case
Karim Benzema said in a televised interview Wednesday he wants to play for France again and win Euro 2016 with international teammate Mathieu Valbuena.
Benzema is facing charges of conspiracy to blackmail Valbuena over a sex tape, and appeared before a judge in Versailles court on Nov. 5.

The 27-year-old denies any wrongdoing, despite admitting he acted as an intermediary between Valbuena and one of the alleged blackmailers.
On Wednesday, Benzema spoke publicly for the first time about the case.
"Hopefully it will end well, we will all be OK ... and we will all return to the France team to win that Euro," he told TF1, according to The Associated Press. "I'm not playing for the cameras, I'm not playing a game. I'm here to be sincere."
The extent of Benzema's involvement isn't clear yet. But Valbuena told Le Monde newspaper last week that his friendship with Benzema wasn't as "sincere" as he had made it out to be.
