The Wales national team has received a rapturous reception upon landing at Cardiff Airport on Friday, and it has continued onto the streets of the capital city and surrounding area.

The Euro 2016 semi-finalists waved to the adoring masses from the turret of the town's castle, and then climbed upon an open-top bus to travel roads and roundabouts temporarily named in honour of some of the players.

The coaching staff and players indulged in a singalong of fans' anthem "Don't Take Me Home" while recognising the passionate support from their homeland.

Wales was eliminated from the European Championship on Wednesday by Portugal, but its run to the final four was unprecedented and has given hope for the country's future efforts to make waves in major tournaments.
