Koscielny believes rotation won't upset Arsenal cohesion

Arsene Wenger is expected to make many changes to his lineup when Arsenal makes the trip to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.

One of those who may be handed a rest Tuesday is defender Laurent Koscielny, who's played every minute of the last three games despite recently returning from a hamstring injury.

However, the Frenchman is a fan of the squad rotation policy and doesn't see it as harmful to the way Arsenal approaches games.

"We know each other's qualities and we know the philosophy of the team. A season is long. We saw it last year with a few injuries," he told Nik Brumsack from the club's website.

"So we appreciate having everybody ready to come in. We benefit from the coach's rotation."

Arsenal has recently pressed a strong claim that they're genuine Premier League title contenders, but the 30-year-old isn't convinced this is the best group he has played with since his move from Lorient in 2010.

"I don't know if this is the best Arsenal team I have ever played for but collectively you can tell that we are capable to do great things together. We need to keep that team spirit and this desire and motivation."

The Tulle native appreciates that the side isn't the finished article, and they need to continue to dig deep when the opposition is in control.

"We like having the ball but there are times in games where we are on the back foot and that's when we need to make the efforts for the team and for our teammates. We did it against Bayern (Munich) and (against Everton) in the second half.

"Let's keep it this way until the end of the season."
