The first of seven FIFA officials arrested in Zurich has accepted extradition to the United States, the Swiss Justice Ministry announced Thursday.

The extradition took place Wednesday, as the unidentified official was taken to New York City where he was escorted by a trio of police officers, according to the Swiss Justice Department.

While the official was not named, various reports suggest former CONCACAF president and FIFA vice-president Jeffrey Webb waived his right to fight extradition.

The other six officials involved in the May 27 raid in Zurich, where they were arrested by Swiss federal police and are being held on corruption charges, continue to fight the American extradition requests.

Webb's charges include the acceptance of bribes during the process of awarding marketing rights associated with the world soccer governing body.
