Report: Proposed rebuild of Anfield to be considered by Liverpool city council this month
The ball is rolling on a "regenerated Anfield" as Sept. 23 is reportedly when Liverpool city council will consider Liverpool's planning application to redevelop their historic ground.
The proposed rebuild of the main stand at Anfield, which would see its capacity rise by 8,300 and take the stadium's overall capacity to around 54,000, is expected to cost £75 million, and according to the Guardian, the city council's planning officer will recommend that the application is approved.
But even if Liverpool receive the thumbs up, they'll apparently be forced to wait a further six weeks before they can proceed with construction due to a "consultation process."
