Report: Koscielny and Lloris were behind Nasri's exclusion from France national team

With the World Cup approaching it almost feels wrong not to have a scandal plaguing the French national team. Like clockwork, one is breaking with just days until the tournament gets underway.

Veteran French football journalists Pierre Mennes and Daniel Riolo have written a new book outlining the 2013-14 campaign.

One of the more shocking allegations involves the exclusion of Manchester City's Samir Nasri from France's 23-man World Cup squad.

Most believed that decision was made solely by head coach Didier Deschamps, but apparently that's not the case.

Mennes and Riolo report Lloris, the team's captain, advised Deschamps against picking Nasri. When asked for their assessment, Laurent Koscielny and Mickael Landreau agreed with their skipper.

The French journalists report that they heard this story from four different sources.
