Report: Ulloa hands in transfer request to end Leicester purgatory
Leicester City extra Leonardo Ulloa submitted a transfer request Thursday after holding unfavourable talks with the club's hierarchy, according to the Leicester Mercury's Rob Tanner.
Ulloa, who has a year and a half remaining on his contract, does not feature regularly in manager Claudio Ranieri's lineup.
Tanner believes the Argentine forward has a concrete offer from La Liga minnow Alaves, but Leicester could yet offer the player a new contract. Ulloa was not handed a new deal in the summer despite his goal-scoring efforts off the bench during last season's unlikely Premier League title run.
Swansea reportedly prepared a £10-million bid for the 30-year-old's services, but Leicester decided to keep Ulloa as a backup for Jamie Vardy, Islam Slimani, and Ahmed Musa.
Though Leicester has struggled to score on a regular basis this season, Ulloa has still spent the majority of the campaign on the sidelines. He has enjoyed just 240 minutes of Premier League football thus far.
He arrived from Brighton in 2014 for an £8-million fee.
