Report: Niasse, Evandro undergoing medicals at Hull

Hull City is on the verge of making some much-needed additions to its thin squad with Oumar Niasse and Evandro Goebel having medicals on Humberside, according to Sky Sports' Jefferson Lake.

Everton's Niasse is being put through his paces ahead of what the Guardian's David Hynter understands is a loan which includes a £10-million option to buy, while Brazilian midfielder Goebel is nearing a permanent switch.

Niasse, a £13.5-million signing by the Toffees in the previous January transfer window, struggled with injuries in the early days of his Merseyside stay, and under Ronald Koeman, who took control of Everton in the summer, the forward was promptly cast off from first-team matters.

"I'm in the dressing room with the Under-23s but I don't have a locker," Niasse said in October. "The other players have where they put their stuff but I don't. I come with my bag and I just have a place I know. I put my bag down, I train and after, I put everything in my car and go home."

FC Porto's attacking midfielder Evandro, 30, progressed through the ranks at Atletico Paranaense while winning the World Youth Championships with Brazil in 2005, and spent two years with Red Star Belgrade before working with new Hull boss Marco Silva at Estoril in Portugal between 2012 and 2014. He has struggled to accimilatise to life at Porto, however, hence the European giant appearing to be on the verge of sanctioning his exit.

In addition to making splurges in the January market, Silva is desperately trying to keep hold of Hull's prized asset Robert Snodgrass, who has allegedly been subject to a £5-million offer from West Ham United.
