Report: Ramsey out a month with hamstring worry

Ask any Arsenal supporter who witnessed another Premier League opener home defeat Sunday against Liverpool paired with a pivotal injury, this time to midfielder Aaron Ramsey: The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ramsey is likely to miss up to a month, with fixtures against Leicester City and Watford out of the question, reports Jeremy Wilson of The Telegraph. The 25-year-old is also almost certain to miss Wales' first World Cup qualifier against Moldova on Sept. 5.

It's hoped that he'll be fit to return to Arsenal's ranks after the international break when the club welcomes Southampton to the Emirates on Sept. 10.

Taken off in the 61st minute just moments after fellow Gunner Alex Iwobi limped off the pitch, Ramsey's yet again hamstrung by a thigh concern, his fifth injury of the same variety in the last three campaigns.

While Arsenal's deep in the midfield, Ramsey's spell on the sidelines is a particular disappointment on the heels of a stunning display with semi-finalist Wales at Euro 2016.

Arsenal is at least on the verge of getting back Euro standouts Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud, and Mesut Ozil, who are all likely to play at Leicester City on Saturday.

With the defeat to Liverpool fresh in the minds of Gunners faithful, some supporters lambasted Arsene Wenger for offering extended breaks for players whose summer holidays were spent in France on international duty.

"I pushed Ramsey in and he got injured," he said. "It's a very difficult situation to sort out because the players come back late because of the Euros and, on top of that, you play them and they get injured. If you don't play them you miss them."

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
