When Riyad Mahrez joined Leicester City, he was initially reluctant to do so, fearing that the Premier League was too physical and that he would be better suited to Spanish football.
Three years and one PFA Player of the Year award later, Mahrez is the poster boy of Leicester's conquest of the Premier League. Supporters of the Foxes are praying that he stays at King Power Stadium amid speculation surrounding his future.
But according to Claudio Ranieri, Mahrez is going nowhere.
"I am very confident with him," Ranieri told reporters on Thursday, according to the Leicester Mercury. "He wants to stay here with us. He enjoys it, he is laughing. He is not a man who says, 'Oh coach, I want to go.' He is happy."
In June, in conversation with Foot Mercato, Mahrez admitted that he is indeed "happy" at Leicester but admitted to being unsure of the time ahead, saying: "I have yet to decide on my future. We'll see. It's possible that I leave, and it's possible that I'll stay. We'll see."

Mahrez unbelievably tallied 17 goals and 11 assists while appearing in all but one of Leicester's Premier League fixtures last season, launching the Foxes to their first-ever title in the top flight of English football.
