Villa beats Southampton 3-2 in Premier League

SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) Fabian Delph scored the winning goal in the 80th minute to give Aston Villa a 3-2 win at Southampton, after the stubborn hosts had twice come from behind to level in an entertaining Premier League match.

Gabriel Agbonlahor and Libor Kozak had previously given Villa the lead, but Jay Rodriguez and Pablo Osvaldo headed in equalizers for Southampton.

But Delph unleashed a stunning 25-yard strike to finally settle the contest and end Southampton's unbeaten home record in the Premier League.

With the loss, Southampton is now five points outside the Champions League spots after surprisingly spending much of the first third of the season inside the top four.

Aston Villa climbed to 10th.
