How Zlatan Ibrahimović helped out his countrymen in need

Your feel good story of the day comes via Swedish superstar and all-around good guy, Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Sweden's national team for players with learning disabilities couldn't afford the cost of going to Brazil for the INAS World Football Championship, so an array of Sweden's footballing stars vowed to help out, including Johan Elmander, Andreas Isaksson and Kim Källström, who donated jerseys and cleats to help the fundraising effort.

Ibrahimović was asked to do the same, but the Paris Saint-Germain star did one better.

Assistant coach Stefan Jonsson, via Yahoo! Sport, explains:

I spoke to Zlatan and asked if he could donate a shirt and he said, 'what the hell are you going with a shirt? How much is it to go?' When we said that we need to SEK 350,000, he asked for the account number and he deposited it.

It’s unbelievable, incredible, fantastic. I still have to pinch myself to believe it’s true. Thanks to Zlatan a life-long dream will soon become reality for all of us involved.

The money, a small drop in the ocean for one of the highest paid athletes in the world, is not the important aspect of the story here.

"Football should be played by anyone, regardless of gender, disability or not", Ibrahimović said.

"There was nothing to think about. It was a given."

It seems Ibra is just as inspiring off the pitch as he is on it.
