"Leroy is an extremely talented football player, who already proved last season how versatile he is in attack," CEO and general manager Horst Heldt said.
Sane, who was given his first professional contract this summer, made 13 Bundesliga appearances last season, notching three goals in the process. He also scored in his Champions League debut at the Santiago Bernabeu, a fixture that saw Schalke defeat Real Madrid 4-3.
