Arturo Vidal is on his way to Germany after Bayern Munich announced an agreement with Juventus to sign the talented midfielder.

Bayern's chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that they have agreed to terms with the Chilean and that Vidal will begin training with his new teammates next week.

“I can basically confirm we have agreed terms with both parties, Juventus Turin and the player," Rummenigge said. "All that’s missing is the medical and signature on the contract."

"If everything runs normally, he’s start training with us next week.”

The transfer is expected to be finalised once Vidal returns from his holidays in the United States and travels to Germany to sign his multi-year contract with the Bundesliga champions.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but various outlets report that Juventus will receive €35 million once the transfer is complete.

The move had been expected after Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta said last week that Vidal was set to sign a five-year contract with the German club.

Vidal becomes the second midfielder to leave the Italian outfit this summer following the departure of Andrea Pirlo, who joined New York City FC shortly after Juve lost in the Champions League final.

The defending Serie A champs, however, have been busy during the transfer season with a handful of signings that include Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Sami Khedira, and Neto. They've also been linked with moves for Bayern's Mario Gotze and talented midfielder Julian Draxler from FC Schalke 04.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Vidal offers Bayern a world-class midfielder that should easily fill the void in the midfield left behind by Bastian Schweinsteiger after the German international completed a transfer to Manchester United.
