Borussia Dortmund have been given some much-needed good news, as Italy confirmed that the hip injury suffered by striker Ciro Immobile in Tuesday's Euro 2016 qualifying match against Norway is not serious.

The 24-year-old, who joined the German club this summer from Juventus, fell awkwardly on his hip late in the match and had to be stretchered off, a sight that surely caused some panic amongst the Dortmund brass.

But following the contest, Italian team doctor Enrico Castellacci moved to calm those nerves when speaking with Rai Sport.

"Immobile has bruised his hip and could not move at first. But it got better after a few minutes," he said, via ESPN FC.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is already dealing with a slew of injuries to vital members of the squad ahead of this weekend's contest against Freiburg, with a Champions League match against Arsenal also on the horizon.

Captain Mats Hummels and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan are dealing with niggling ailments, İlkay Gündoğan and Jakub Błaszcyzkowski have only just returned to training after lengthy spells on the sidelines, and most notably, Marco Reus is set to miss roughly four weeks after suffering partially torn ligaments in his ankle earlier this week.
