In what will be their first two matches since hoisting the World Cup in July, Germany take on Argentina on Sept. 3, in a rematch of the World Cup final, and Scotland on Sept. 7, to kick off their qualifying campaign for Euro 2016.

There's clearly a great deal of excitement over who will be the first team to claim a win against the world champions, and - with no disrespect to Scotland - Argentina are seen as the more likely side to defeat the Germans.

But it's clear both sides will be in tough, as Germany announced their 21-man squad for the upcoming fixtures Friday, and 18 of the players were part of their World Cup-winning roster.

Goalkeepers

Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Roman Weidenfeller (Borussia Dortmund), Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover)

Defenders

Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munich), Eric Durm (Borussia Dortmund), Matthias Ginter (Borussia Dortmund), Kevin Grosskreutz (Borussia Dortmund), Benedikt Howedes (Schalke), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Antonio Ruediger (Sttutgart)

Midfielders/Forwards

Julian Draxler (Schalke), Mario Gomez (Fiorentina), Mario Gotze (Bayern Munich), Cristoph Kramer (Borussia Monchengladbach), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Sami Khedira (Real Madrid), Thomas Mueller (Bayern Munich), Mesut Ozil (Arsenal), Lukas Podolski (Arsenal), Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund), Andre Schurrle (Chelsea)

Absent from Germany's World Cup squad are Philipp Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Per Mertesacker, who all retired from international football after the tournament. However, the trio will travel to Dusseldorf on Wednesday to be honored and bid farewell by the German Football Association (DFB).

Also of note is the return of Marco Reus, who missed the World Cup after an injury in a friendly against Armenia.
