Gotze yet to make decision on Bayern Munich future

Mario Gotze says "everything's open" in regards to his future, as he is still to reach clarification on his role at Bayern Munich.

The attacking midfielder is nearing the final 12 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena and has struggled for a regular starting spot under Pep Guardiola, prompting reported interest from Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.

"Right now, there are no talks," he told Sport Bild of his plans, according to ESPN FC. "Not with the club and not with Carlo Ancelotti.

"I don't have a concrete schedule. I can't say whether a decision about my future will be made before or after the European Championships."

Some of Gotze's compatriots in the national team have already sought out assurances on their respective futures at club level beyond Euro 2016, but others have been known to delay until after a major tournament - potentially boosting their value in the transfer market.

"I know that, for instance, (Dortmund captain) Mats Hummels has said he wants clarity before the tournament, but Toni Kroos (in 2014) only made his decision (to join Real Madrid from Bayern) after the World Cup. Everything's open."

Liverpool appears to be the front-runner for Gotze's signature, especially given Jurgen Klopp's successful work with the player during their shared time at Dortmund.

Gotze has started the last two matches for Der FCB, and could feature in his side's trip to Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
