It was a tough day at the office for Serena Williams.

The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion was stunned by fellow American Sofia Kenin in the third round of the French Open on Saturday and wasn't in the mood to stick around long afterward.

Williams had fourth-ranked men's player Dominic Thiem booted from the main interview room before he was finished his post-match press conference because she didn't want to wait for him to finish, according to Ben Rothenberg of The New York Times.

Thiem was understandably not pleased with Williams' decision to interrupt.

"I don't really get it, seriously," Thiem said. "I mean, what the hell? No, but it's a joke really ... I have to leave the room because she's coming?"

Thiem refused to speak with the media in a secondary interview room and felt he was being treated like a junior player, according to Tennis MAGAZIN's Jannik Schneider. The main rooms are usually reserved for top players because they can accommodate more media members.

"I leave also then," Thiem said. "I'm not standing around. I can also do what I want."

Kenin appeared to get under the skin of Williams and fans for the emotions she displayed during their match. The 20-year-old drew some boos from the Parisian crowd after questioning a line call.

"I didn't really care," Kenin said after her upset win, according to Eurosport's Tumaini Carayol. "I knew I just had to show the crowd, like, listen, Sonya Kenin is in the house. Yes."

Williams suffered her earliest exit at a Grand Slam tournament since falling in the second round at Roland Garros in 2014. The 37-year-old played just one clay-court match in the leadup to the French Open.
