England U-20s clinically top Argentina in 1st World Cup win since 1997
England's Under-20s recorded their first World Cup finals victory in 20 years by brushing away old foe Argentina with a 3-0 win in Jeonju, South Korea.
Everton youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring with a smart diving header, before Newcastle United forward Adam Armstrong doubled England's arrears when he slotted home following a direct move from Paul Simpson's lot.
Lautaro Martinez was then adjudged to have aimed an elbow in the direction of Fikayo Tomori by the video assistant referee after 78 minutes, leaving the Argentinians to play out the rest of the contest with 10 men.
Chelsea hotshot Dominic Solanke buried a penalty in injury time to wrap up a rare three points for England Under-20s in a World Cup campaign. The Young Lions next face Guinea on Tuesday and host South Korea three days later in Group A.
