Delneri, 65, is an experienced tactician who has had 19 different stints in his managerial career, including seasons with Roma and Juventus, as well as Hellas Verona's city rivals, Chievo.
The appointment comes just one day after the club parted ways with Andrea Mandorlini, the longest-serving manager in Serie A up to that point. A 3-2 loss to Frosinone on the weekend saw Mandorlini fired from his post.
Delneri will look to overturn the club's recent struggles, particularly on the stat sheet: Hellas Verona has conceded a league-high 24 goals on top of scoring a league-low 10 goals.
