Silvio Berlusconi calls on PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to rejoin AC Milan

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi wants to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic in red and black again.

Ibrahimovic has just one year left on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and reports of a return to Milan have not stopped all summer.

"If Ibrahimovic wants to come to Milan, we are waiting him with open arms," Berlusconi said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. "A return is no problem. We will continue to invest because we want to return to the glories of the past."

Ibrahimovic's wages were initially thought to pose the biggest issue for Milan, or any other club willing to sign him. He's 14th on Forbes' list of the highest-paid athletes in sports, and French newspaper L'Equipe put his annual salary at €15 million, according to ESPNFC.

But Milan has shown a willingness to spend this summer after years of austerity measures, with the Rossoneri dropping more than €80 million on transfers over the past few months.

"If PSG do let Zlatan leave, we have their word that it would only be to us," Berlusconi added.

The Swede said during PSG's preseason tour that his next club "will be a surprise, a very big surprise." And Milan, which finished out of a European spot for a second consecutive year, may well be a surprising destination for a player who has yet to win the Champions League.

Ibrahimovic joined PSG in 2012 following a two-year spell at Milan, where he scored 56 goals in 85 appearances.
