AC Milan have all but secured Gonzalo Higuain's replacement.

The Rossoneri reportedly agreed to a €35-million move, plus add-ons, for Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek on Sunday, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano, who adds that Piatek will sign a five-year deal with Milan.

The move will allow Higuain to join Chelsea for the second half of the campaign and in turn enable Alvaro Morata to return to Spain to join Atletico Madrid.

Piatek, 23, only joined Genoa over the summer, moving from Ekstraklasa outfit Cracovia for a reported €4 million. The Polish international has been a bright spot for the 14th-placed Serie A club, potting 13 goals in 19 league matches. He also scored six in just two Coppa Italia contests.

Coincidentally, Milan and Genoa will square off against each other Monday, though neither Higuain nor Piatek will feature; the former has been dropped from the Milan squad entirely by manager Gennaro Gattuso, who said Sunday that he "did not consider him ready" for the match, while Piatek is suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
