Watch: Emotional Totti says goodbye to teammates, Roma supporters
There wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Francesco Totti said goodbye to Roma on Sunday, the epochal club captain taking the pitch for the Giallorossi one final time.
During his remarkable 25-year career, in which he played a record 786 matches, the Italian icon became synonymous with the club - in many ways, he was Roma.

So it was no surprise that, following a 3-2 win over Genoa, a moving ceremony paying tribute to Totti reduced the Stadio Olimpico - and the 40-year-old Italian, for that matter - to tears.

After being on the receiving end of adulation for over two decades, Totti returned the favour Sunday, reading a touching letter to bid both his club and his fans one final farewell.
"Being the captain of this team is an honour," it read, in part. "You are - and will always be - my life. I will no longer entertain you with my feet, but my heart will always be there with you.
"Now, I will go down the stairs and enter the dressing room that welcomed me as a child and that I now leave as a man. I'm proud and happy to have given you 28 years of love.
"I love you."
Roma, in addition to on-field tributes, released the following video to commemorate Totti's legendary tenure in the Italian capital:
