Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi could be set for a spell on the sidelines after twisting his left knee during training Tuesday, the Serie A side announced.
The club said he will be rested over the next few days before undergoing a scan to determine the severity of the injury.
"The extent of the injury will be established on Friday, after medical tests and a specialist consultation with Dr. Mariani," Roma said in a statement.
Florenzi has not appeared in a match since October when he ruptured the ACL in the same knee.
The versatile Italian was a staple in Luciano Spalletti's team before going down with the initial injury, scoring one goal and providing three assists during 12 appearances in all competitions.
