Report: Seahawks' McDowell reports to camp, placed on NFI list
Aaron Doster / USA TODAY Sports
Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Malik McDowell reported to training camp Thursday and was placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list by the team, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
McDowell, a second-round pick of the Seahawks this spring, suffered a concussion and facial injuries in an offseason ATV accident. At one point, it was reported that the injuries could force him to miss his entire rookie season.
McDowell has yet to be cleared to resume football activities, but this development suggests he's trending in the right direction.
