Rougned Odor shares infield with brother, also named Rougned Odor

Point of Odor: There were two players named Rougned in the Texas Rangers' infield on Saturday.

During the sixth inning of their Cactus League game on Saturday, the Rangers let second baseman Rougned Odor live out a dream and play alongside his brother, a prospect in the team's system who also happens to answer to the name Rougned Odor.

Rougned Roberto Odor - the Rangers' starting second baseman and older of the two siblings - formed a double-play combo with his younger brother for two innings while Rougned Jose Odor manned shortstop. In the eighth, the elder Odor left the game and his little brother took over for him at second - meaning that, yes, Rougned Odor was replaced defensively by Rougned Odor.

Despite growing up in the same house and now being with the same professional organization, Saturday was the first time the brothers got to suit up side by side.

"I was really happy," Rougned Roberto told Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. "I know my mom and dad were really happy for this. And I hope it happens again."

Rougned Roberto has been the Rangers starting second baseman since 2014, but the 24-year-old is coming off a season in which his slash line was just .204/.252/.397 with 162 strikeouts. He did, however, manage to play in all 162 games and hit 30 home runs.

Rougned Jose, 20, was signed by the Rangers out of Maracaibo, Venezuela in 2015, and is also a second baseman by trade. Last year, he played for the Rangers' Dominican Summer League affiliate and hit .232/.359/.268 with five doubles and 16 RBIs in 47 games. He's not ranked among their top 30 prospects by MLB Pipeline.

Both Odor brothers had good afternoons on Saturday, as they each singled during Texas' 7-6 loss to Kansas City.
