Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie confirmed he and the team have discussed a potential contract extension.

"I feel like I have the best agent ever, and he keeps me updated," McDuffie said on Monday's "Up and Adams" show when asked about extension talks. "Because of that, I truly feel like I'm truly allowed to focus on ball."

McDuffie added: "If I get paid, I get paid. I know it's coming. Right now, I don't really want to worry about it."

Kansas City drafted McDuffie in the first round in 2022. The club exercised his fifth-year option in April, keeping him under contract through the 2026 campaign.

The 24-year-old has solidified himself as one of the league's best cornerbacks over the last two years. McDuffie earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2023 and followed it up with a standout 2024 season, recording 59 tackles, 13 passes defended, and two interceptions.

"You know, things are looking good out here in K.C.," McDuffie said with a smile when asked again about the progress of a potential new deal.

The cornerback market reset this offseason, with Derek Stingley Jr., Sauce Gardner, and Jaycee Horn all receiving lucrative deals. Gardner, 24, became the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history after signing a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension with the New York Jets.

McDuffie has 27 passes defended and seven forced fumbles in 43 career contests.
