Mammoth's Desnoyers expected to miss 12 weeks after wrist surgery
Utah Mammoth prospect Caleb Desnoyers is expected to miss approximately 12 weeks after undergoing wrist surgery, the team announced Thursday.
A 12-week timeline would sideline him until early November. The Mammoth kick off their season Oct. 9, while Desnoyers' junior team, the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats, begins play Sept. 18.
The Mammoth selected Desnoyers with the No. 4 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, two-way center recorded 35 goals and 49 assists in 56 games with the Wildcats last season. He added 30 points in 19 playoff appearances while reportedly playing through injuries to both of his wrists.
Desnoyers is a favorite to crack Canada's roster for the 2026 World Junior Championship if he's not in the NHL. The tournament begins Dec. 26, 2025.
