Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered a mild hamstring strain and will be held out of practice, head coach Kevin O'Connell announced Friday.

Jefferson will be re-evaluated next week.

"The best thing is we avoided anything serious," O'Connell said, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "I see no concerns in regards to (Week 1) and have no worry at all that we'll be able to get Justin ready to go for the regular season."

He suffered the injury in the opposite leg from the hamstring issue that cost him a portion of the 2023 season, Seifert adds.

Jefferson told the media that he was experiencing tightness Thursday and underwent an MRI, per Seifert.

The 26-year-old has recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his five NFL seasons. He caught 103 passes for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns last year to earn his fourth Pro Bowl nod.
