The Houston Rockets and veteran center Steven Adams agreed to a three-year, $39-million contract extension, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN on Saturday.

The pact is fully guaranteed with no options, according to The Athletic's Kelly Iko. It's also a front-loaded deal that will descend year-to-year, a source told Spotrac's Keith Smith.

Adams averaged 3.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.5 blocks over 13.7 minutes per game across 58 regular-season contests in 2024-25. However, his role grew in the playoffs, logging 22.1 minutes per game as a key rotation piece.

The 31-year-old will likely continue to be Houston's No. 1 option off the bench behind Alperen Sengun, as the pair was on the court together for only 334 possessions last season, per Cleaning The Glass.

Adams missed the entire 2023-24 campaign after undergoing knee surgery.

The Pitt product has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, New Orleans Pelicans, and Memphis Grizzlies over his 11-year career.

The Rockets now have $210 million in projected salary if they exercise Fred VanVleet's $44.9-million team option, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. The team has until June 29 to pick up the option.

Houston finished second in the West with a 52-30 record but was eliminated from the postseason's first round by the Golden State Warriors.
