The Big 12's board of directors and commissioner Brett Yormark agreed to a three-year extension that runs through 2030, the conference announced Tuesday.

Yormark's extension stems from his work in moving the conference forward following the departures of Oklahoma and Texas in 2021, ESPN's Pete Thamel reports.

In addition to securing a six-year, $2.28-billion TV deal with ESPN and Fox in October 2022, Yormark expanded the conference by adding Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah from the Pac-12.

In July 2024, Yormark called the Big 12 the "deepest football conference in America," adding there's "never been a better time than right now to be part of the Big 12."

Yormark was hired in 2022 to succeed Bob Bowlsby.
