Georgia welcomed a familiar face back into their 2026 recruiting class on Monday when five-star quarterback Jared Curtis announced his commitment.

Curtis chose Georgia over fellow finalist Oregon after initially committing to the Bulldogs in March 2024 before backing off his verbal pledge last October.

Curtis' decision came down to the wire. The Tennessee native spent time on the phone with each school's offensive coordinators on Sunday, sources told ESPN's Eli Lederman. Ultimately, one factor made him commit to Georgia: its staff.

"Georgia speaks for itself," Curtis told ON3's Steve Wiltfong. "I've built a relationship with coach (Mike) Bobo and (head) coach (Kirby) Smart. I think they're a powerhouse, and they have great coaches all around. They have the players up there and they're very disciplined."

Curtis is the No. 5 overall prospect and top-ranked pocket passer, according to the ESPN 300. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound signal-caller threw for 2,830 yards, 40 touchdowns and three interceptions, adding 637 rushing yards and 18 rushing scores in his junior year at Nashville Christian School in 2024, per 247 Sports.

Curtis is the Bulldogs' fourth ESPN 300 commit. The blue-chip passer becomes Georgia’s highest-rated recruit in 2026, alongside safety Zechariah Fort and receiver Vance Spafford.
