The New York Yankees spoke with left-hander Max Fried over a Zoom call this week, sources told Mike Puma of the New York Post.

General manager Brian Cashman, manager Aaron Boone, and pitching coach Matt Blake were among the nine Yankees officials to attend the meeting, which lasted over an hour, sources told Puma.

The call with the All-Star pitcher apparently went well.

Fried is expected to have Zoom calls with multiple teams this week before the winter meetings start Sunday, according to Puma.

The Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, and Baltimore Orioles are reportedly also pursuing the 30-year-old.

Fried posted a 3.25 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 8.6 K/9 across 174 1/3 innings (29 starts) with the Atlanta Braves last season.
