Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields suffered a right hand injury during Sunday's 19-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Fields dislocated his thumb on his throwing hand, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Head coach Matt Eberflus said postgame that X-rays on Fields' hand came back negative, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday to determine potential additional damage.

Fields appeared to sustain the injury while being sacked by Vikings pass-rusher Danielle Hunter in the third quarter. He went to the locker room and did not return to the game.

Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent came in at quarterback. Bagent was strip-sacked on his third play, and the Vikings returned the fumble 42 yards to extend their lead.

The backup signal-caller finished the game with 83 passing yards, one rushing touchdown, and one interception.

Meanwhile, Fields completed 6 of 10 passes for 58 yards and one interception before exiting. He also had 46 yards on eight carries.

The 24-year-old's injury comes after arguably the best two-game stretch of his young career. He threw for a combined 617 yards and eight touchdowns in a win over the Washington Commanders and a loss to the Denver Broncos.

Fields had started the season poorly, producing just three passing scores against four interceptions over the first three games.

The Bears fell to 1-5 with the Week 6 loss.
