Tiger Woods is not in the field for the The Open Championship in July at Royal Liverpool, an R&A spokesperson told Sports Illustrated's Bob Harig.
"We have been advised that (Woods) won't be playing at Hoylake," Mike Woodcock of the R&A said via email.
Woods hasn't golfed competitively since withdrawing from the third round of The Masters in April.
The 47-year-old is still recovering from surgery he underwent after The Masters to address post-traumatic arthritis in his right ankle. Woods underwent a subtalar fusion procedure and was given an approximate six-month recovery timeline after being hurt in a 2021 car crash.
Tiger is a three-time Open winner, with one of those victories coming at Royal Liverpool in 2006.
