NBC is eyeing former Dallas Cowboys head coach and New York Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett as a potential replacement for Drew Brees as one of the network's analysts on "Football Night in America," the New York Post's Andrew Marchand reports.

Garrett would also be the game analyst during Notre Dame football games, Marchand adds.

The 56-year-old joined NBC this year as a USFL analyst alongside play-by-play announcer Jac Collinsworth.

Besides being part of the "Football Night in America" crew in 2021, Brees called two NFL games and teamed up with Mike Tirico on Notre Dame gamedays. NBC promoted Tirico this year, tabbing him to replace Al Michaels as the voice of Sunday Night Football.

Brees and NBC reportedly broke up in May after just one season. The New Orleans Saints legend has yet to confirm his exit from the TV network, though he recently acknowledged he's undecided about his future.

Garrett coached the Cowboys in 152 regular-season games from 2010-19. He began last year with the Giants but was fired midway through the campaign after less than two seasons.
