Timberwolves lose Beasley for 4-6 weeks over hamstring injury
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without Malik Beasley for four-to-six weeks after an MRI revealed a Grade 3 left hamstring injury, the team announced Monday.
The shooting guard was initially listed as day-to-day after missing Saturday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers due to hamstring soreness.
Beasley's injury marks his second significant spell on the sidelines this season. The league suspended the 24-year-old Florida State product for 12 games without pay at the end of February for conduct stemming from threats of violence charges.
In 37 games this season, Beasley is averaging 19.6 points and 4.4 rebounds, both career bests for the fifth-year pro.
The 12-38 Timberwolves welcome the Sacramento Kings to the Target Center in Minneapolis on Monday and look to improve their league-worst record.
D'Angelo Russell was listed as available for Monday's meeting after missing the last 26 games due to an injury that required surgery to remove loose bodies from the former All-Star's left knee.
