Former NBAer Nate Robinson is trying his hand at another sport.

The ex-New York Knicks guard will step into the boxing ring on Sept. 12 to fight YouTube star Jake Paul on the undercard of the reported exhibition match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., Robinson told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

"I wanted to show that I'm a world-class athlete," Robinson said. "I played college football, played in the NBA for 11 years, and I'm excited for this venture into the sport of boxing. Jake Paul, I want all the smoke."

Standing just 5-foot-9, Robinson has proven to be quite the athletic marvel. The three-time Slam Dunk contest champ set a state record of 13.85 seconds in the 110m hurdle when he was in high school.

Robinson also attended Washington on a football scholarship, starting six games at cornerback for the Huskies before switching permanently to basketball.

The 36-year-old played for eight different clubs over the course of his NBA career.
