Avalanche assign 2015 1st-round pick Mikko Rantanen to AHL

The Colorado Avalanche assigned forward Mikko Rantanen to the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL, the team announced Thursday.

Rantanen, who was selected 10th overall by the Avalanche in this year's draft, has gone pointless with a minus-5 rating over six games with the big club after making the team out of training camp.

Colorado also announced they've recalled forward Dennis Everberg from San Antonio in a corresponding move. The 23-year-old Swede has tallied three goals and five points over three games with the Rampage this season.
