Coyotes sign Steve Downie to 1-year contract reportedly valued at $1.75M

The Arizona Coyotes have signed Steve Downie to a one-year contract that Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman believes is valued at $1.75 million.
Downie, 28, is an agitating forward who recorded 238 penalty minutes to go along with 14 goals and 14 assists in 72 games last season.
The veteran is a former first-round pick from the 2005 NHL Draft that has turned into a journeyman, having stints with the Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
Arizona also signed forward Brad Richardson and defenseman Zbynek Michalek on Wednesday.
