The Anaheim Ducks acquired a third defenseman Monday, landing Korbinian Holzer from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Toronto will reportedly receive a fifth-round pick in 2016 and take on Eric Brewer's contract in the transaction, the Maple Leafs announced.
He joins former Columbus Blue Jackets rearguard James Wisniewski and Simon Despres, who was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins, on Anaheim's revamped blue line heading toward the stretch run.
Holzer, who has spent most of the season with Toronto's AHL affiliate, reportedly suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Washington Capitals.
