The Boston Bruins are desperate, but have apparently set some sensible boundaries in negotiations leading up to the March 2 trade deadline.
General manager Peter Chiarelli won't move captain Zdeno Chara or the team's first-round selection in this summer's entry draft, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman and Damien Cox reported Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada's "Headlines" segment.
There were rumblings the Bruins had asked Chara if he would be willing to lift his no-trade clause, but Friedman poured cold water on that suggestion.
