The window to speak to pending free agents has opened and Montreal Canadiens forward Brian Gionta is already popular among rival teams:

Gionta's five-year, $25-million deal will expire next week. It included a no-trade clause.
Gionta, 35, scored 40 points in 81 regular-season games and added seven points in 17 postseason outings.
