The Kansas City Chiefs announced Friday that they have signed tight end Travis Kelce to a contract extension.
The deal is worth $46 million over five years with $20.5 million in guarantees, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. That makes Kelce the NFL's second-highest paid tight end.
A third-round pick in 2013, Kelce has matured into one of the NFL's most fluid and dangerous receiving threats at his position. After missing all but one game in his rookie season due to injury, Kelce has amassed 139 catches and 10 touchdowns in the two seasons since.
