A significant change to the coaching staff has marked the Jacksonville Jaguars' first step in attempting to solve their long-standing issues on the defensive side of the ball.
Jacksonville fired defensive coordinator Bob Babich on Tuesday, officially parting ways with the veteran coach after three seasons.
Babich was first named the defensive coordinator after Gus Bradley took over as head coach in 2013. Though personnel issues have continued to play a part in the team's struggles, his defenses finished no better than 24th in total yards over that span.
General manager Dave Caldwell had indicated earlier Tuesday that changes were on the way to address the defensive coaching staff, so it's possible there are several moves still to come.
