Rams fire OC Frank Cignetti, promote Rob Boras

The St. Louis Rams have fired offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti and promoted assistant head coach/offense Rob Boras, the team announced Monday.

Boras will assume the responsibilities of offensive coordinator for the remainder of the season.

"We thank Frank for his hard work and dedication over the past four years," Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said. "We wish him the best moving forward."

After Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Fisher said he was "almost out of answers" for how to fix an offense that ranked 31st (296.3) in both yards-per-game and scoring (15.8).

Cingetti spent three seasons as the Rams' quarterback coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator this past offseason.
