San Diego Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd doesn't want to have played his last snap as a pro.
Floyd, 34, has a significant shoulder injury that may have forced him to IR if he hadn't already announced that this season will be his last.
Floyd has yet to undergo surgery and the Chargers haven't moved him off the roster, leaving the door open for a return this season - if Floyd can play through the pain.
It also appears there's a chance Floyd will be back next year.
Citing sources familiar with Floyd's thinking, there's now a non-zero chance Floyd will put off retirement for one more year, reports Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Should Floyd never play another down, he'll retire with 5,398 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns.
