Lions leave open possibility of shutting down DeAndre Levy for the season
At 0-5, the Detroit Lions almost certainly aren't headed to the postseason.
One of the many reasons for the Lions' struggles this season has been the absence of defensive leader DeAndre Levy.
The linebacker made his 2015 debut on Sunday, but it was short-lived. Levy re-aggravated the hip injury that cost him the first four games of the year and did not return.
On Monday, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell admitted his team will consider shutting down Levy for the season to allow him to heal:
Caldwell allowed that the Lions could shut Levy down: Yeah, i think obviously the doctors will make the final determination on that

It's tremendously disappointing that the Lions are already in the position of making moves with 2016 in mind, but that's how far things have fallen off in the Motor City.
