Brady on moving past 'Deflategate': 'I've got to put whatever feelings I have aside'
Tom Brady won't say he believes he was set up by the NFL, but he also won't say he doesn't.
"I've got a lot of personal feelings about this," Brady responded to a question about whether he believes the NFL conducted its investigation with the predetermined conclusion that he was guilty.
"I've got to put whatever feelings I have aside," Brady said Tuesday in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI.
The New England Patriots passer mostly deflected questions about the "Deflategate" scandal, calling it a "challenging time" and adding he's sorry the matter has distracted from what his team has accomplished.
Brady paused when asked if he should have destroyed his cell phone.
"That's a tough question," he responded. "Like I said, that's pretty personal."
Perhaps the most newsworthy moment came when Brady revealed his legal team had extensive settlement talks with the NFL, but he didn't say if a deal was ever close.
